about a curved stair lift

about a curved stair lift

As you may already know, stair lifts come in various forms; from straight to curved, and from wheelchair platform lifts for home to ramps for vehicle and other commercial lifting activities. For the sake of this article, we will stick mainly with the curved stair lift – custom built to meet your needs around your home.
A curved stair lift is usually custom built to work effectively on curved stair cases. This is because straight ones won’t work on curved stairs and vice versa. That said, how do you know whether a curved stair lift is best for you or not? The answer to that is quite simple really. All you need to do is to take a look at the type of stairs you (or whoever you are looking to get a lift for) have at home. If it appears straight, then you bet a curved one won’t work for you. On the other hand, if your stair way is curved, then you are most likely to go for the curved stair lift in order to match your needs.

Once you’ve decided that, the next thing you may want to do is call the nearest expert installer or manufacturer and make your intentions known to them. With a curved stair lift, they are most likely to pay you a visit because it means they will have to custom-build one specifically to fit your stair rails. The main reason for the visit is to take measurements of your stair rails and other necessary information needed.
As soon as the customisation is done to fit your stairs, the lift will be installed with all the safety needs that must be met and properly tested before being handed over to you.
The good thing about a curved stair lift is this, you get to build your stair case whichever way you want and still know that a stair lift can very easily be custom made for you.
